DON’T PANIC – THERE IS HELP COMING TO COPE WITH THE NEW DAVIS STIRLING ACT!

Everyone who knows anything is chattering about what will happen on January 1, 2014 when the reorganized Davis Stirling Act becomes law. While it is true that the current Act which starts at Civil Code Section 1350 will no longer be on the books, it does not mean that everything that went before with reference to that set of code sections will immediately cease to be useful or enforceable.

Over the next few months I will be sending out bimonthly E-Newsletters to help boards, managers and owners cope with the idea tha this is a transition year, but not a reason to view it as the end of an era, or the possible end of the world like what people thought when the new Melenium was coming – remember, the world did not end January 1, 2000!!!

So just lock in my website, the E-news, and the blogs. On the site … very soon you will see a link called “Coping with the New Davis Stirling Act”. It will be located in the upper right hand corner when up on the site. And check in periodically. I will be posting information on what to do about Disclosures, Rules, Policies, and how to revamp meetings procedures to comply. I will be providing and also linking to some of the best Davis Stirling Act Conversion Charts which will be very useful.

As for what to do about Amending Documents, which should not be delayed – all the “In” attorneys know how to write documents that will flow smoothly into the reorganized Act, including ME!

This transition doesn’t have to elicit panic – it will be a breeeeeeeeeeeeeeze. Just stay tuned in and you will get tuned up.
